Tennis in the United States is played on three kinds of places: public park courts run by a city or county, member clubs and country clubs with their own pros and leagues, and commercial tennis centers that sell court time by the hour. Public courts are usually free and first come, first served, with a posted limit (often 60-90 minutes when others are waiting); busier cities run online reservation systems with a small fee and a permit for the season. Indoor courts are rented by the hour and booked days ahead in winter. Most facilities are hard courts; clay is common in the Southeast and at private clubs, and grass is rare. Lights extend play into the evening at many parks, sometimes with a coin or app-operated switch.

Pontiac is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Pontiac follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Best indoor tennis dome and great structured kids lessons. Seating is nice for adults waiting and viewing lessons. Watch out for balls though!

For PickleBall Players….Tennis courts are divided into 2 pickleball courts. Neighboring court balls will fly over and interrupt play. Court 9 has a huge bump half a foot behind the back line. Tripping does occur. The floor does provide true bounce and action. The nets are top notch. Pickleball lines coexist with tennis lines. The pickleball courts are located in an auxiliary dome away from the main building so there are no bathrooms or drinking fountains. During these Arctic weather days the dome is super cold. Layer up! Lighting is fair.

We LOVE Wessen!! My son has been playing there for 10 years. His tennis skills have drastically improved over the years due to the guidance of all of the tennis instructors. We have loved playing UTR Team Tennis!

This is a very nice club. It’s in a surprisingly remote location close to downtown Pontiac. As you can see by the pics it’s rather airy and modern. They’ve executed a very welcoming modern environment with a open lounge area. The only negative I can see is it’d be a noisier environment if you need to do work while your kid(s) play. Bring yourself over-the-ear head phones if you need a quiet zone. I’ve only been to this place in the summer and it’s comfortable. I wonder what it’s like in the winter…Birmingham, which has a similar set up (inflatable area) is a little cool in the winter.

I love the variety of clinics offered and the number of experienced coaches. The facility is meticulously clean and the front desk staff deserve five stars for their customer service and friendliness. The online scheduling platform could be better. I’d prefer to see a calendar view with court availability. I’d give Wessen five stars IF: 1) the clinics didn’t consistently have too many people per court, 2) if they offered more in the evenings, and 3) if there was more focus on skill-building and coaching in the drop-in clinics, and 4) the online booking platform allowed customers to see court and coach availability. Overall, it’s one of the best in Oakland County for cost, staff, facility condition, and variety.
